Mission Zero Roadshow in Dundee

23 September, 2024 | Dundee Electric

Last month, GREENFLEET Scotland returned for the 16th consecutive year. As part of their net zero campaign, the organisation hosted the Mission Zero Roadshow, which took place across three Scottish cities – Edinburgh, Dundee and Inverness.

The event aimed to connect Scottish businesses and local authorities and create an opportunity to engage with the programme, learn about solutions to overcome climate challenges, network with industry experts and discuss decarbonisation strategies.

The highly attended event took place at the Apex hotel in Dundee on the 20th of August and included presentations and Q&A sessions from keynote speakers. Dundee City Council’s Fair Work, Economic Growth and Infrastructure convener, Councillor Steven Rome was invited to speak at the conference and share details of Dundee’s decarbonisation strategy.

Councillor Rome said: "I was delighted to come along and speak at this event. It was very apt to have this nationwide roadshow stop in the city as we are a leader in this area, especially among other local authorities.

“We have accomplished much on our Net Zero Journey - with fleet electrification, an extensive local network of charging points, industry leading charging hubs, the Low Emission Zone (LEZ), and energy decarbonisation. These examples along with actions set out in the Council’s Net Zero Transition Plan will help us to become a more sustainable city and a more modern council.

"There were many impressive contributions and insightful conversations had which I know will have a great impact in our city and beyond.”

You can find out more about the conference on the GREENFLEET Scotland website.
