The taxi trade is a great example of how EVs can become more visible around the city. Dundee City Council introduced an incentive and lowered the cost of the taxi test for fully electric vehicles by 15% as the reduced maintenance and absence of an emission test meant it takes less time and parts for the mechanics to check.
From this, there are now 225 electric taxis in the city (this equates to 34% of the city’s taxi trade). This number is continually growing and is helping make EVs more visible around the city.
